Mirror mirror

If some of us feel as though we are floundering under he weight of "feeling too much" then lets take a broader and more optimistic view of this. Together, we are becoming more robust and I suspect the reawakening of the mirror neurone is a signal that we are descaling our furred up neurology in readiness for a bigger experience of all that it means to be human; which is a far less isolated, self-interested, muffled-up-to the ears experience than we have long tended to believe. In my view, this is the stuff of frontline evolution.

The vagus nerve: leading us back to our health

There's literally nothing to lose and everything to gain from a healthier vagus nerve. Like all the best paths, it starts out a little mysterious but that's where its adventure lies. I've certainly had cause to explore it lately as its been found to have just so many links with the most chronic, mysterious, health conditions....and here's what I found out (to my benefit, maybe yours). So, having found it and become so much more aware of it, I like to think the vagus nerve is a path worth following as, so it turns out, it may very well lead us back to ourselves in more ways than one!

Getting on (with) your nerves

Having enjoyed some incredible, milestone improvements when it comes to neuralgia this last few months, here are my favourite eight things that have contributed to this massive improvement to my quality of life. Not only are these stand-alone useful tips but, by using them to give our nervous system a break from overwhelm, some good sensations and the building blocks for creating myelin, we help to repair it and get so much closer to enjoying a “normal”, pain-free life all of the time; which I believe is perfectly achievable and is where I am certainly heading.

Transforming Epstein-Barr…an update

Revisiting this topic a year on during a (now rare) flare-up of Epstein-Barr symptoms, it feels like a great time to talk about all the massive health improvements achieved in that year through some new approaches to healing what can feel most stuck; not least via Anthony William The Medical Medium's amazing book which deserves another shout-out for being just so nail-on-the head with my experiences. If you have a so-called "unshiftable" chronic illness going on, this post is for you!

Repairing your myelin

I keep noticing how nature has this weird and wonderful way of offering us clues to our own healing; often through locational juxtapositions (a cure found growing very close to the trigger "event") or visual clues. So when I came across Lion's Mane Mushroom as a possible route to repairing myelin, the coincidence of it resembling a sea anenome...our common ancestor when it comes to the evolution of our nervous system...took me aback and excited me, all at once! I just knew I was on to something...(read more).

The positive side of negative

Think of it as that feeling you get when you're next to a waterfall...When negative ions are freely available, we think more clearly, feel most positive and uplifted, feel creative, inspired and connected. They have been shown to promote alpha brain waves, which flow seamlessly between left and right hemispheres of the brain, and a general increase in brain wave amplitude which then translates as overall higher awareness levels, an optimal state of "firing on all cylinders" using the full range of our skill set. When negative ions abound, metabolism is enhanced by overall better functioning of the body’s systems for processing nutrients and this also feeds into brain function and increased flow between the logical and the intuitive aspects….so, you could say, we get super-inspired at these times; prime territory for spiritual and creative growth and for human evolution. So where do they disappear to; what is it about modern life that chases them away and how do we redress the balance? Here's how...(read more).

Living with electro-sensitivity

Is electro-sensitivity really "Type 3 diabetes" as research now suggests? This would certainly fit in with my experiences of it. Here's a frank discussion of the symptoms of ES plus suggestions of how to live with it and make your home habitable again...plus an invitation to talk about these things far more openly instead of discussing them in the rather embarassed and furtive way that has become the norm. If this is you, you aren't alone - a lot of people (one estimate suggests up to 60 million people) are now finding their health is being seriously affected by a sensitivity to EMFs. Its time...not to make an enemy of technology but... to open up the discussion so access to technology can evolve along side us, not at the expense of homeostasis and good quality of life. For me, its been a challenging yet enlightening journey. Throwing in my two-penneth from personal experience...(read more).

Meeting our electric selves

What do you do when you find out you are super-sensitive to something to the point where it causes you actual pain...it could be anything but take, for instance, electricity. This is what happened to me; and, it turned out, there were some things I could do about that "problem" but also some that I wasn't prepared to consider and that included anything that looked like "hiding away" from it or making myself a victim to it. For instance, I wanted to get out and travel more, not less, over the next few years and how would creating an artificial safe-zone equip me to do that? I have experienced many times how, the more you protect yourself from something deemed undesirable, the more you then react to it when it is back in your experience range…and I didn’t want that; I wanted recovery to mean full integration back into my humanness, without limitations. To lock myself away from the current reality of this planet would be to make an enemy of the present-day living conditions on this planet and I wasn’t prepared to declare war in that way. I want the rebalancing of my health to mean I am fully equipped to lead a life that means I can say “yes” to any experience I choose without feeling compromised by my health and that means the kind of recovery where I feel truly robust, not maintaining some sort of fragile equilibrium by walking a knife’s blade of carefully managed circumstance. A recovery on those terms would feel conditional in so many ways and I am shooting for the fully unconditional variety! What happened next...well, it was transformative and it taught me such a lot about stepping into my own power and meeting myself - my electric-self - on its own terms, learning how to optimise all that I am, without compromising.
