Celebrating your wins

The mindset of "chronic" can close our minds to all the small and medium sized wins, the subtle but indisputable improvements, the learning curves and fresh starts. Its just so important to take pause to appreciate all the subtle ways that things have improved, been overcome or even just taught us beneficial things about ourselves and life in general, often with such positive outcomes when it comes to increased confidence, optimism, sense of progression and even joie de vivre.

The pitfalls of identification with a label and the power of positivity

Labels can be so useful, for identifying, explaining, pooling information, finding things out...but they also come with pitfalls. Exploring how to use them (with caution) and also the power of positivity as a tool for breaking out of any boxes.

Let me tell you what is doing me good…

I am reminded by what I am about to share (a transformation in progress) that slow-steady transformation on the inside happens in just the same way, in tiny increments, and more so without the burden of high-expectations, the deadly weight of huge targets or imperatives...just simply rising up and making that small effort, day after day, with steady faith in the outcome.

What would I be without “all that”?

You may have gained more from 2020 than you’ve yet accounted for…

What have you gained from this year? Do you now find it easier to appreciate? On this final day of the year, if you can scrape through the sludge of a challenging year, dare you ask these very questions and be pleasantly surprised what you find under there? I did and, within moments of intuitively listing a few things, this is what I got.

Religious practice to get us through (no, NOT what you think)

Adopting healthy habits is the thing that will get us all through this challenging phase and so here's the point I'm making here: The religious practice I speak of here is nothing to do with attending "church" (we need to reclaim that association back, to re-empower ourselves), its to do with devotion…to one's self, one's life…and the conscientious, faithful practice of observances that affirm one's existence as spirit in human form (a long way around of saying “health”); and on this topic I have much to say.
