Should you really wear cushioned (or barefoot) shoes with hypermobility issues?

When you can trust your feet, when you can feel the earth beneath you and when your body knows it can really trust where it is putting its weight down, your whole body relaxes, you become more instinctual in the way you walk, your balance improves, your left and right hemispheres get toned in their relationship with one another as you walk out in nature, and you come back feeling happier, healthier and as though you have had an all-round therapy just from putting one foot in front of the other. We need to use this...its foundational for good health!

If you’re an empath, you’re probably feeling all this at a whole other level…

So honour that, own it, work with it too. We’re all feeling rattled, thrown around and turned inside out at the moment but, if you’re an empath, you’re likely to be feeling it at a whole other level. You may well have felt all this global chaos and overwhelm coming our way even before it … Continue reading If you’re an empath, you’re probably feeling all this at a whole other level…

Transitions

We are going through some significant transitions right now, and many of us in our personal lives too; so what do these transitional phases have to tell us; what are they about at the personal and broadest level....and how are these all linked together. Speaking as one who feels them quite profoundly in my body, these are my thoughts...

…but it didn’t work for me

We arrive in this world wide-open to things that neurotypicals seem to have no idea or sense of and with trusting hearts so full of unconditional love, such transparency and truth, such an all-pervading knowledge of the sameness of all living creatures, that it takes a lifetime of being told we are wrong to perfect the structures that hold us intact, in spite of such a tide of contradiction to what we still know and hold so tenderly inside.

CBD for IBS, menopause and pain

A number of articles are springing up to discuss the interest in CBD from an irritable bowel syndrome point of view and I was curious about this due to my own experiences in this regard, which I will relate below. The reason why cannabis is theorised to be a new and appropriate means for tackling … Continue reading CBD for IBS, menopause and pain

Are you still getting over Christmas?

To those of us that are Highly Sensitive People (HSPs), the festive season can feel almost unbearably charged or even toxic, including high exposure to people and behaviours that we normally manage to avoid; and that’s not just within our families and friends, since many of us are empathic enough to feel the general mood of the collective. There are many more toxic byproducts than that; some obvious and some less so (read my full article for more on that). The effect can be like an energetic hangover that takes some time to get over; so how do we do that and, when do we start asking, is it worth it or is there another way to behave, that feels more in sync with who we are, at the end of the year? Is this, in fact, what our bodies are trying to tell us?

Some thoughts on hay fever and gluten

I don’t want to add to the mountain of anecdotal coincidences that already muddle the health-matters domain when they are treated as “fact” but I want to share these observations about my own hay fever symptoms in relation to gluten consumption in case they hold any substance. As celebrated in one of my earlier posts … Continue reading Some thoughts on hay fever and gluten
