Knowing everything…and nothing at all

A magical thing happens when we get even close to wholeness; we feel an updraft, as it were, lifting us up to a new level of experience and we become the spiral that breaks us out of the tedium of circles. Suddenly, we are viewing things from a more advantageous perspective than before and everything seems clearer, crisper and more vibrant, somehow. Without having to "solve" anything, we make better sense of some of the chaos that once bewildered us and we love ourselves more completely, less conditionally, than ever before. We can tell when we are getting there as we feel the joy build in our heart and the excitement in our gut; life starts to feel appealing again, even with all its difficulties. Its as though nothing has changed yet everything has. Its fascinating how better health almost always comes in this feeling's wake; as soon as we surrender to the not-knowing part of how we got there, since this is not to do with "figuring anything out"...(cont. reading).

Wanting “stuff”

A highly emotive topic at this time of year; when did we make "wanting more" so wrong and guilt-burdened? What if it is the essential ingredient required to keep us here in human form; especially if we struggle to do so, to the detriment of our health? This masculine "striving and aspiring" urge is a very-necessary part of any recovery process as it amounts to half of what it is to be human! Denying it is to want to be so spiritual as to virtually not be here, in physical form, at all; and, as someone whose health has made me feel that way more often than not for the last decade, anything that makes me feel like I am really "here" is a bonus. Re-evaluating the place of wanting material things at a time of year when it is such a hot topic; including how to recognise what conscious consumerism looks like (which is more than just knowing where your "stuff" came from or how it was made). What if making you feel joyful and excited about life all over again is also an essential part of that picture and enough reason to take part in it?

Recovery is organic

When health recovery is allowed to be organic, a journey that is as worthy as any destination, it equips you with a vast workshop of life-tools that enables you to fine-tune your own experience like never before. Nothing is ever lost or wasted and, you realise, you can always go back, can experiment, can venture further off track (in all aspects of life) than you ever thought possible in your wildest dreams; in short, life becomes unlimited and you learn something very important to know - that you are utterly unique and that no one can create your best experience of this life but you; this is one hundred per cent your journey. So you explore, you play, you recalibrate, you do it your way (and nobody else), you learn to trust yourself, you just know what to do next and you feed the good-nutrients of all the experience you have gathered into the roots of you next best experience, which is the ultimate in organic living. With all this painstaking attention to detail, you express your own worth in every moment; your sheer willingness to get your hands dirty, to pick up the pen and sign the dotted line to take responsibility for your own wellbeing, right down to every brass tack in your body, is the ultimate act of self-love. That's when things really start to happen...
