Mirror mirror

If some of us feel as though we are floundering under he weight of "feeling too much" then lets take a broader and more optimistic view of this. Together, we are becoming more robust and I suspect the reawakening of the mirror neurone is a signal that we are descaling our furred up neurology in readiness for a bigger experience of all that it means to be human; which is a far less isolated, self-interested, muffled-up-to the ears experience than we have long tended to believe. In my view, this is the stuff of frontline evolution.

The vagus nerve: leading us back to our health

There's literally nothing to lose and everything to gain from a healthier vagus nerve. Like all the best paths, it starts out a little mysterious but that's where its adventure lies. I've certainly had cause to explore it lately as its been found to have just so many links with the most chronic, mysterious, health conditions....and here's what I found out (to my benefit, maybe yours). So, having found it and become so much more aware of it, I like to think the vagus nerve is a path worth following as, so it turns out, it may very well lead us back to ourselves in more ways than one!

Dealing with solar minimum blues

Almost as an aside to my usual topics (though it feels like an important one), I feel I want to share an observation this morning and its that I believe there is such a strong correlation between health and the solar cycles as they switch between solar maximum and minimum. There’s no denying that I … Continue reading Dealing with solar minimum blues

The electrolyte connection

I thought I knew about electrolytes but this feels like a whole new breakthrough in my understanding of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue...and it was right under my nose all along. Get to know your electrolytes (and how to replenish them) to deeply energise your life.

Going Gamma

Here are just some of the considerable benefits of Gamma brain waves from a useful article entitled "The Marvellous Properties of Gamma Wavelengths" People with very high levels of gamma activity are exceptionally intelligent, compassionate, happy, and have excellent memories and strong self-control. IQ scores of people with high gamma wave activity are correspondingly high. … Continue reading Going Gamma

Off kilter

I see in my dog a parody of same comic behaviour that plays out in me and mine at this time of the year, which he also finds something of a struggle being a sun-worshipper of the nth degree. He sleeps a hung-over type of sleep most of the day, his nose pushed deep into the pile of blankets that he insists upon, then he gets up for his walk (the one lively time of his day) and, once the sun goes down, obsesses about food and snacks like his life depends on getting another treat out of the cupboard, before falling back into a deep slumber in his bed. So what does this tell me..?

Living with electro-sensitivity

Is electro-sensitivity really "Type 3 diabetes" as research now suggests? This would certainly fit in with my experiences of it. Here's a frank discussion of the symptoms of ES plus suggestions of how to live with it and make your home habitable again...plus an invitation to talk about these things far more openly instead of discussing them in the rather embarassed and furtive way that has become the norm. If this is you, you aren't alone - a lot of people (one estimate suggests up to 60 million people) are now finding their health is being seriously affected by a sensitivity to EMFs. Its time...not to make an enemy of technology but... to open up the discussion so access to technology can evolve along side us, not at the expense of homeostasis and good quality of life. For me, its been a challenging yet enlightening journey. Throwing in my two-penneth from personal experience...(read more).

Itchy skin – putting out that fire

An article I chanced upon suggested olive oil for menopausal itch because of the oleuropein that olive oil contains (I take a daily capsule of olive leaf for that very reason as its an excellent antioxidant). Stood in my bathroom this morning, my eye falling on that unused bottle of argan oil, an instinct suddenly told me (as I recalled that olive-like smell..) that argan oil may also contain oleuropein if that's the thing that smells like rancid olives...so I slapped some all over my calves, my hips and especially my chest, which has been feeling like I have a third-degree sunburn for three days now. Voila - pain gone!

When you feel like you’ve been tipped over…

This morning I simply want to share a useful article I "happened upon" because, for me, it shot such a bolt of light into my experiences of chronic fatigue that I knew it would likely be a blessed relief to others like me. Not only does this article provide a sizeable chink of light at … Continue reading When you feel like you’ve been tipped over…
