Ehlers-Danlos, POTS and Asperger’s…many lightbulbs go on at once

It can feel like a very long walk down a dimly lit corridor when you are trying to fathom your way out of a long running health condition such as fibromyalgia, as I expect others on the journey could probably relate to. From time to time, if you’re fortunate and diligent enough in pursuit of … Continue reading Ehlers-Danlos, POTS and Asperger’s…many lightbulbs go on at once

More reasons for bra-burning

From the International Bra Free Study: “Bras Can be a Pain. Literally. In fact, research shows tight bras can cause breast pain, cysts, and even cancer. The tighter and longer the bra is worn, the higher the risks. While the bra-cancer link is still being resisted by affected industries, the fact is that bra-free women have the healthiest breasts. The Bra-Free Study will prove that and show that this group of women will have lower breast cancer rates compared to women who wear bras.”

From another planet

How long have you felt like an alien landed on the wrong planet? Its something that needs be felt into if you are an Aspie, in order to fully respect yourself for just how long you have had to swim upstream against the flow; so you can appreciate the sheer tenacity and determination with which you try…and keep on trying….to fit in, speaking and receiving words and behaviours that don't compute and yet always having to step forwards to meet others far more readily than they ever come to meet you. It's a thankless task and now it's time to thank yourself. Bringing your Asperger's into the equation can even help you cope with some of your most triggering circumstances because now you have logic on your side (and you know how much we love logic). Here's my example...

Meeting what we want halfway

Helping others to help yourself is something you learn, over and over again, when you have a long-term health condition or disability; there is absolutely no point, only stagnation to be found, in a place where you “lie prostrate”, as it were, waiting for somebody to rescue you. And meeting anything that comes to help you; be that a person, a situation or a healing modality, is more of the same. We can’t just “wishfully think” our way to the outcome we want; as anyone who has ever worked with the law of attraction will have, no doubt, learned through trial and error. Squeezing your eyes tight, crossing fingers and toes and hoping beyond hope won’t get you to where setting a clear affirmation…and then taking whatever steps allow that outcome to fall easily into place, acting “as if” it has already happened…will get you. Taking the supplement, following the health regime, making the positive choices, contributing even the baby steps that you can offer up to a circumstance as "your part of it" is a signal that you are willing to make a difference and will tell the universe that you are ready for the outcome that you are summoning. It’s a learned thing; a positive habit to form, one which can be replicated in all kinds of circumstance yet with the remarkably consistent outcome of "good stuff" coming from it.

Dealing with solar minimum blues

Almost as an aside to my usual topics (though it feels like an important one), I feel I want to share an observation this morning and its that I believe there is such a strong correlation between health and the solar cycles as they switch between solar maximum and minimum. There’s no denying that I … Continue reading Dealing with solar minimum blues

More energy…not less

It's a truth I've come to own over years of learning to hold the equilibrium of my physical body that allows me to lead a normalish life - akin to countless others who think they have a shortfall of energy, I possess almost too much energy inside my cells rather than too little. Those waves of crashing exhaustion that periodically seem to want to floor me are because my tank is overspilling with energy, not running dry. And its a trait I notice about a lot of so-called energy-depleted people, especially women....

Transforming Epstein-Barr…an update

Revisiting this topic a year on during a (now rare) flare-up of Epstein-Barr symptoms, it feels like a great time to talk about all the massive health improvements achieved in that year through some new approaches to healing what can feel most stuck; not least via Anthony William The Medical Medium's amazing book which deserves another shout-out for being just so nail-on-the head with my experiences. If you have a so-called "unshiftable" chronic illness going on, this post is for you!

Living with electro-sensitivity

Is electro-sensitivity really "Type 3 diabetes" as research now suggests? This would certainly fit in with my experiences of it. Here's a frank discussion of the symptoms of ES plus suggestions of how to live with it and make your home habitable again...plus an invitation to talk about these things far more openly instead of discussing them in the rather embarassed and furtive way that has become the norm. If this is you, you aren't alone - a lot of people (one estimate suggests up to 60 million people) are now finding their health is being seriously affected by a sensitivity to EMFs. Its time...not to make an enemy of technology but... to open up the discussion so access to technology can evolve along side us, not at the expense of homeostasis and good quality of life. For me, its been a challenging yet enlightening journey. Throwing in my two-penneth from personal experience...(read more).
