Could people with fibromyalgia, ironically, be less suceptible to covid-19 and the worst of its effects than the rest of the population? A new study (Interleukin Deficiency Disorder Patient Responses to COVID-19 Infections, Journal of Advances in Medicine and Medical Research, 2021) suggests so and when I read about it today in this article, I … Continue reading An advantage to fibromyalgia?
What have you gained from this year? Do you now find it easier to appreciate? On this final day of the year, if you can scrape through the sludge of a challenging year, dare you ask these very questions and be pleasantly surprised what you find under there? I did and, within moments of intuitively listing a few things, this is what I got.
My physical foibles (labelled such things as EDS and chronic pain) don't render me unentitled to a gloriously reimagined health future but even more prone to be open minded and eager enough to embark on the journey because there are no rules where I dwell, it is all a giant leap in the dark so why not make it a leap towards what I prefer to envision and thus create. The first step is to make friends with movement...
Adopting healthy habits is the thing that will get us all through this challenging phase and so here's the point I'm making here: The religious practice I speak of here is nothing to do with attending "church" (we need to reclaim that association back, to re-empower ourselves), its to do with devotion…to one's self, one's life…and the conscientious, faithful practice of observances that affirm one's existence as spirit in human form (a long way around of saying “health”); and on this topic I have much to say.
So honour that, own it, work with it too. We’re all feeling rattled, thrown around and turned inside out at the moment but, if you’re an empath, you’re likely to be feeling it at a whole other level. You may well have felt all this global chaos and overwhelm coming our way even before it … Continue reading If you’re an empath, you’re probably feeling all this at a whole other level…
Adult women who discover they are Aspie’s are like butterflies; for they have been tightly bound in an ever-increasingly alien and limited format for what felt like too long and then, ultimately, the extreme straightjacket effect of some sort of chrysalis experience prior to emerging through their diagnostic epiphany...
Is your body acutely sensitive to quotas of light, to changes in the season, to events way outside your mind's awareness? Time to celebrate how truly remarkable it is...and to learn to live with it.
Today demonstrated to me, so aptly, the old-adage that some things are like riding a bicycle; once learned, we never forget how. Somewhere not so deep inside all of us is the feeling of a joyful, liberated, unlimited physical state and once we even get close to it, even with the mind, those feelings come flooding back, creating brand new chemistry...the healing chemistry of our potential future self...in our cells.
A magical thing happens when we get even close to wholeness; we feel an updraft, as it were, lifting us up to a new level of experience and we become the spiral that breaks us out of the tedium of circles. Suddenly, we are viewing things from a more advantageous perspective than before and everything seems clearer, crisper and more vibrant, somehow. Without having to "solve" anything, we make better sense of some of the chaos that once bewildered us and we love ourselves more completely, less conditionally, than ever before. We can tell when we are getting there as we feel the joy build in our heart and the excitement in our gut; life starts to feel appealing again, even with all its difficulties. Its as though nothing has changed yet everything has. Its fascinating how better health almost always comes in this feeling's wake; as soon as we surrender to the not-knowing part of how we got there, since this is not to do with "figuring anything out"...(cont. reading).
Helping others to help yourself is something you learn, over and over again, when you have a long-term health condition or disability; there is absolutely no point, only stagnation to be found, in a place where you “lie prostrate”, as it were, waiting for somebody to rescue you. And meeting anything that comes to help you; be that a person, a situation or a healing modality, is more of the same. We can’t just “wishfully think” our way to the outcome we want; as anyone who has ever worked with the law of attraction will have, no doubt, learned through trial and error. Squeezing your eyes tight, crossing fingers and toes and hoping beyond hope won’t get you to where setting a clear affirmation…and then taking whatever steps allow that outcome to fall easily into place, acting “as if” it has already happened…will get you. Taking the supplement, following the health regime, making the positive choices, contributing even the baby steps that you can offer up to a circumstance as "your part of it" is a signal that you are willing to make a difference and will tell the universe that you are ready for the outcome that you are summoning. It’s a learned thing; a positive habit to form, one which can be replicated in all kinds of circumstance yet with the remarkably consistent outcome of "good stuff" coming from it.
